By using the "Bekræftede tilfælde og reinfektioner opgjort" data, provided by Danish National Health Institute SSI, we have reconstructed case data for 2021, to include reinfections and provide an accurate picture of current trends in Denmark. Data source:

24 Dec 2021, 12:22
Starting december 22nd, Denmark has clarified that their original "total cases" data was in fact "total cases, excluding reinfections". Starting December 22, they are releasing a breakdown in case data and we have decided to use the "Total cases, including reinfections" as we expect reinfections to be more common in the coming months. As a result 8052 cases were added on December 22nd.

26 Mar 2021, 17:26
Denmark has revised the number of total coronavirus cases, down by approximately 2500 cases. Also, from now on Denmark will report PCR tests seperately from antigen tests. We will continue to use the combined total for Denmark. See also:

10 Mar 2021, 20:29
Denmark today reports over 1 million new tests and over 2000 new cases. This is because of a decision by the Danish health agency (SSI) to include results of private COVID-19 testing. More information:

Danish government today reports no numbers. Quote: "Due to technical problems at the Statens Serum Institut, no key figures will be published today, Thursday 14 January 2021."

Since the early days we have been covering Denmark testing based on 'persons tested' as that was the only information available. Since the end of May, Denmark has also been releasing data on samples tested. We have decided to switch to 'samples tested' as in the second wave this is likely to give a more accurate picture. Today we've put a lot of effort to reconstruct all historic testing data manually as no other database is currently offering correct 'samples' data at the moment.

After 2 months without reporting in weekends, Denmark has today (just like Belgium last week) resumed COVID-19 reporting in weekends!

20 May 2020, 14:27
Denmark has renewed their reporting format, and is now (except for persons tested) also disclosing the number of samples tested. The current ratio of samples tested / persons tested = 488491 / 412051 = 1.186

12 May 2020, 17:59
Denmark today reported they had falsely reported 12 deaths, which they have now substracted from the total.
